Chinese to English Game Localization Linguist

About the role

We are looking for a native‑level English linguist with strong Mandarin proficiency to join a 3‑month game localization project in Shanghai. The role focuses on translating, revising, and adapting in‑game text, UI strings, marketing copy, and dialogue for English‑speaking players.

Key responsibilities

• Translate Chinese game content into natural, engaging English.
• Review and edit translations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate tone.
• Adapt narrative and dialogue for cultural relevance.
• Perform linguistic QA, correcting grammar, terminology, punctuation, and formatting issues.
• Collaborate with localization, project management, and creative teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Required profile

• Native English speaker with fluent Mandarin Chinese.
• Minimum 2 years experience in game localization or translation.
• Strong understanding of Chinese culture and ability to localize cultural references.
• Passion for gaming, especially mobile games.
• Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field is a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with localization tools and content management systems (preferred).

What we offer
