Category Buyer – Supplier Localization & Sourcing

About the role

This position drives supplier localization initiatives aligned with global category strategies and the company’s industrial footprint goals. You will define and implement sourcing strategies for assigned spend categories, managing a portfolio of suppliers to improve performance, cost, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with global commodity plans.
• Lead tender processes (RFQs), negotiate contracts covering price, quality, delivery, and commercial terms.
• Manage supplier relationships globally, monitor KPIs, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct market benchmarking, cost breakdown analysis, and business continuity assessments.
• Identify new suppliers, lead qualification, and build a sustainable supplier base.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) with at least 5 years of strategic sourcing experience in an international manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in localization, international negotiation, and contract/claim management.
• Fluent English; French or Italian is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Outlook expertise.
• Basic knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
