TPS-300mm Etch Lab

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a specialist to support the TPS‑300mm Etch Lab in Xi'an. The role focuses on hardware performance, failure analysis, and on‑site support for new product introductions and customer tools.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in new product introductions, early learning shipments, and resolve critical long‑term customer issues.
• Provide third‑level escalation for hardware and software stability problems and drive failure analysis to identify root causes.
• Deliver Alpha and Beta site support, including installation, calibration, service, and testing of new hardware, software, or processes.
• Review and communicate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and generate system performance data such as MTBF, MTBI, and availability.
• Create and review technical documentation, present findings to customers, and organize on‑site training for internal and external engineers.

Required profile

• Demonstrates depth of expertise in hardware performance and failure analysis within a semiconductor equipment environment.
• Leads functional teams or projects with moderate complexity and guides others to solve complex technical problems.
• Communicates difficult concepts effectively and negotiates technical solutions with customers.

Required skills

• Hardware troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Failure analysis and root‑cause identification.
• Equipment calibration and validation.
• Engineering Change Order (ECO) review and documentation.
• System performance data analysis (MTBF, MTBI, availability).
