About the role

The Head of Xi’an Semi Lab and Xi’an Site will lead advanced scientific applications and manage complex processes for product development and technical management within Applied Materials' semiconductor division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead advanced, practical applications of scientific theory and complex processes in product development.
• Interact with key customers to resolve highly complex process engineering issues (High Value Problems).
• Participate in strategic planning to integrate R&D with business objectives.
• Responsible for research, development, and implementation of new products and enhancements.
• Oversee alpha engineering programs and alpha/beta product releases for the division.

Required profile

• Broad understanding of systems, theories, and practices relevant to semiconductor processes.
• Ability to stay current with new developments and influence policy and practice.
• Strong business expertise to expand technology footprint and support commercial objectives.
• Leadership experience leading cross‑functional project teams and mentoring staff.

Required skills

• Expertise in semiconductor process engineering and product development.
• Experience with alpha and beta engineering program management.
