About the role

ShanghaiTech University’s School of Physical Science and Technology is inviting applications for multiple tenure‑track and tenured faculty positions across all ranks. Candidates will join a vibrant research community and contribute to teaching, supervision, and the development of an internationally recognized research program.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead an independent research program in physical science, engineering, energy, materials, or environmental science.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students, including research assistants.
• Teach two courses per year and participate in curriculum development.
• Collaborate with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and leverage shared research facilities.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Physical Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Post‑doctoral experience for junior‑level candidates.
• Demonstrated potential or track record for high‑impact, internationally recognized research.
• Strong publication record and ability to secure external funding.
