Art History Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an Art History Teacher to deliver a range of art subjects at CSVPA China’s Baoshan campus. The role involves hands‑on instruction in classic and modern art history, drawing, painting and optional specialised workshops, fostering students’ practical skills and artistic exploration.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum covering classic & modern art history, life drawing, life painting, sketching, and optional watercolour, oil, human figure drawing, and printmaking.
• Guide students in preparing sketchbooks and experimenting with diverse art materials and techniques.
• Facilitate hands‑on sessions that emphasize physical operation and multi‑material experimentation.
• Support students in exploring tools and supplies, ensuring familiarity with their properties.
• Contribute actively to the teaching team and school community.

Required profile

• Familiarity with Western art education systems such as A‑Level or portfolio pathways.
• Undergraduate degree or higher, preferably with overseas study or exchange experience in an art discipline.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of art, with good English communication abilities.
• Demonstrated logical thinking, teamwork, time‑management and resilience under pressure.
• Bonus points for prior teaching experience.
