System Engineer – Medical/Consumer Electronics

About the role

As a System Engineer you will ensure that product development follows Philips' V‑model process, coordinate system integration activities, define verification strategies, and help bring oral healthcare products to market while meeting safety and reliability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate system integration activities during design development phases.
• Develop and execute system testing and verification activities.
• Develop and follow up on product design FMEA that feeds into element design FMEAs.
• Set up and maintain the database used to document outputs of the Philips V‑model process.
• Communicate V‑model maturity and progress to management throughout product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Information Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in a product development environment.
• End‑to‑end exposure to systems engineering activities across the product lifecycle (concept to release).
• Experience with requirement‑management tools such as Doors or Codebeamer (preferred).
• Background in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices, with knowledge of FDA QSR and ISO 13485.
• Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma and Design for Reliability methodologies.
• Experience in testing equipment setup and verification.
