Supply Chain Sourcing Engineer

About the role

ABB's Distribution Solutions division in China is hiring a Supply Chain Sourcing Engineer in Beijing, reporting to the Procurement Manager. The role covers several product categories such as metal parts and works onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new suppliers in cooperation with the category team, following category strategy
• Handle daily, project and NPI-related RFQs and drive supplier identification and qualification
• Develop and optimize cost models for fabricated parts, manage the category budget and track savings and avoidance
• Manage supplier quality, safety and delivery, approve supplier parts and materials, and monitor KPIs based on maturity and performance
• Negotiate agreements with main suppliers, renew price lists and terms, and prepare and negotiate corporate contracts and executive bids
• Analyze bids to determine optimal value and implement green supply and supplier sustainability management

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes (machining, welding, stamping, bending, surface treatment, assembly) and materials (steel, copper, stainless)
• Solid understanding of drawing requirements; experience with mould development is a plus
• Experience leading supplier negotiations, cost and financial analysis and contract management
• Excellent analytical and root-cause analysis skills
• Extensive knowledge of sourcing, technical material development and index material analysis
• Good communication, careful, result-oriented and self-motivated
