Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

AMD is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage the quality performance of key manufacturing partners and suppliers for its Game Console, Graphics, Server and CPU products. The role works closely with AMD’s Manufacturing and Procurement teams to ensure suppliers meet AMD’s quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the direct quality interface with suppliers of rack‑level connection solutions such as cables, high‑speed connectors and optical modules.
• Ensure suppliers develop and execute manufacturing control plans that meet product specifications.
• Implement quality metrics and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
• Identify systematic improvement opportunities and launch long‑term projects to reduce defects.
• Drive SPC compliance and address out‑of‑control conditions.
• Conduct yearly audits and on‑site line walks at supplier factories when required.
• Assess supplier performance through quarterly quality scorecards and communicate improvement directions.
• Train suppliers on AMD quality methodologies, including 8D problem solving and change management.
• Manage internal and customer quality excursions, leading root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Record, monitor and report supplier activities and excursion events to management on a weekly basis.
