Special Process Manager – Welding & Automation

About the role

Alfalaval is looking for a Senior Special Process Manager to lead the development and implementation of cutting‑edge welding technologies across its boiler and pressure‑vessel product lines. You will drive automation, robotics integration and continuous improvement to enhance quality, safety and efficiency while reducing material consumption.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, automation and robotics of advanced welding processes (TIG, MIG, laser).
• Define and maintain welding standards, material and gas specifications.
• Manage welding documentation (WPQR, WPS) and welder certification records.
• Establish and improve the welding quality control system.
• Develop and deliver training programs for new and existing welders.
• Analyse NCRs, create repair procedures and support production troubleshooting.
• Select and qualify new welding equipment and materials to boost efficiency and safety.
• Provide on‑site supplier reviews and technical support for sourcing engineers.

Required profile

• Systematic, organized and detail‑oriented with strong technical insight.
• Service‑mindset and ability to work across production, quality, supply‑chain and finance teams.
• Good understanding of manufacturing methodologies, lean tools and Six Sigma.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Metals or Materials Engineering.
