Senior Tax Consultant

About the role

The Senior Tax Consultant will support the tax team in delivering high‑quality tax advisory services to corporate clients. Working closely with Managers and Senior Managers, you will conduct research, prepare tax opinions, and maintain strong relationships with clients and tax authorities. This role requires up‑to‑date knowledge of Chinese tax legislation and the ability to guide junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Managers and Senior Managers in handling tax engagements.
• Research tax assignments and draft advisory documents.
• Liaise with clients on tax matters under manager direction.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and tax officers.
• Stay current on tax regulations to enhance technical expertise.
• Coach and review the work of junior staff.
• Participate actively in team activities and adhere to internal quality standards.
• Maintain organized tax documentation for audits and reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a consulting firm, preferably as a tax senior.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese tax laws and local practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• CPA or TA certification preferred.
