Senior Medical Technologist

About the role

Q2 Solutions, a clinical trial laboratory services organization, is hiring a Senior Medical Technologist in Beijing. The role manages instrumentation and technologists so that laboratory results are reported accurately and on time, while maintaining supply inventory and communicating operational issues to management. Work must follow the ICH E6 Good Clinical Practice guideline.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the daily responsibilities of an assigned technical area and train new staff in proper laboratory techniques for existing and new methods.
• Evaluate staff performance against SOPs and efficient workflow, and act as the main resource for resolving testing issues and analyzer maintenance.
• Maintain quality control of laboratory testing, document corrective and preventative actions, and perform moderate to highly complex analysis of patient specimens.
• Assist management in developing new methods, validating test methods, selecting new instrumentation and implementing SOPs for testing and safety.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on client requests, report testing delays, identify vendors and order supplies as directed.
• Participate in continuing education through self-study, off-site lectures and sharing programs with coworkers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical/Histo technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• 4 years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of clinical procedures, GLP and other regulatory standards, laboratory safety and infection control, and laboratory equipment and terminology.
• Effective computer skills and ability to maintain reporting procedures and workflow.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
• Applicable certification or license required.
