Senior Financial Controller – Japanese Speaking

About the role

We are looking for a senior finance professional to lead high‑quality financial reporting and compliance for our APAC entities, with a focus on Grundfos Japan. The role combines statutory reporting, internal‑control improvement and close collaboration with business partners across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accurate monthly, year‑end and statutory financial reporting for Grundfos Japan and another APAC legal entity, managing relationships with outsourcing partners.
• Drive continuous improvement of the internal‑control environment to meet group target scores and ensure compliance with global policies and the Group Accounting Manual.
• Manage the external audit process end‑to‑end, acting as the main contact for local authorities, auditors and service providers.
• Evaluate compliance issues in business cases and projects in close cooperation with business partners.
• Support harmonisation, efficiency and effectiveness of global finance controlling, statutory compliance and internal‑control processes.
• Assist forecast and budget activities for Country Directors and the broader Finance organisation at Group and Performance Unit levels.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented finance professional with deep expertise in IFRS reporting, statutory compliance and taxation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, including audit, accounting and taxation.
• In‑depth knowledge of international and local accounting and tax legislation (IFRS required).
• Fluent in Japanese and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong stakeholder‑management abilities and a proven track record of driving process improvements in a complex, international environment.
