Senior Data Scientist III

About the role

The Senior Data Scientist III will lead the end‑to‑end development of advanced AI models, including large language models and deep learning solutions, for LexisNexis products. This role partners with product, engineering and business teams to deliver high‑impact analytical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and scaling of LLM, NLP, classification, regression and deep learning models in cloud environments.
• Architect robust model pipelines, establish validation, explainability, fairness and governance practices, and monitor performance through A/B testing.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical solutions for risk scoring, entity resolution, fraud detection and compliance monitoring.
• Work with structured and unstructured data, including legal texts and graph‑based datasets, to ensure high‑quality, scalable data pipelines.
• Mentor junior data scientists, lead code reviews and contribute to the strategic roadmap for data science initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, NLP or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of progressive data science or AI engineering experience, with 3+ years building production LLM‑based systems.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work with global teams.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep expertise in LLMs, NLP frameworks, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, prompt engineering and evaluation.
• Knowledge of embedding models, vector databases and semantic retrieval techniques.
• Proficiency in model deployment, monitoring and optimization in production environments.
