Senior CMF Sustaining Engineer

About the role

Logitech (Suzhou) is hiring a Senior Color Material Finish (CMF) Sustaining Engineer. The role focuses on improving the quality of CMF parts and works with global cross-functional teams on overseas supplier transfer projects. It suits someone who wants to start their career in the consumer product industry within a global, open corporate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support global cross-functional teams for assigned overseas supplier transfer projects.
• Manage updates to CMF engineering design changes to improve manufacturability, performance, quality and cost.
• Conduct supplier design reviews and support CMF specification updates for second-source development and cost reduction.
• Implement corporate sustainability initiatives such as VOC paint and post-consumer recycled material phase-ins.
• Use project management tools, communicate plans and share risk management techniques to ensure rigor in CMF design and execution.
• Independently resolve complex CMF issues and act as a technical expert for colleagues in CMF areas.

Required profile

• BS/BA degree in mechanical, chemical or material engineering and sciences.
• 3-5 years of CMF experience, preferably in the consumer product industry, with engineering design and volume manufacturing exposure.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in CMF processes such as printing, painting, plating, anodizing, PVD, IMD, ED, blasting, polishing, brushing, hot stamping, debossing, 3D texturing and lasering.
• Experience with materials, coatings, plastics, metals, composites, paints, inks, adhesives, stamping, die casting and injection or compression moulding.
• 1+ year as a project engineer; project management experience is a plus.
• Excellent Mandarin and English, and willingness to travel overseas (e.g., Vietnam, Thailand).
