Senior Category Buyer

About the role

Aptiv is seeking a Senior Category Buyer to lead sourcing initiatives that support our vision of zero vehicle accidents and emissions. You will work within the buying office to develop supplier strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality components for our mobility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to meet annual cost‑reduction targets and secure multi‑year supplier agreements.
• Source, qualify, and approve suppliers that satisfy quality, volume, and cost criteria.
• Support new business quoting, project bidding, and BOM cost competitiveness.
• Lead cross‑functional negotiations and manage global supplier relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance, create assessment plans, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate technical integration, communicate specifications, and act as an engineering liaison.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commodity buying or strategic procurement within an industrial environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on cost reduction and value‑stream optimization.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
