Senior Buyer

About the role

As Senior Buyer, you are responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services required for project or operations execution. This role involves negotiating contracts and commercial terms, and ensuring timely delivery to support project and operations timelines and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and lead procurement plans based on project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
• Source and evaluate suppliers in line with strategic sourcing guidelines, ensuring quality, cost and delivery criteria are met.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers for critical packages, aligning with the Category Management team as needed.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance with specifications and company policies.
• Control costs, identify savings opportunities and ensure activities stay within budget constraints.
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations, company policies and safety standards.
• Provide regular procurement status updates, risk assessments and mitigation strategies to project managers and stakeholders.
• Mentor and support the team of buyers in their daily activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration or a related field.
• 10+ years of procurement experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with procurement software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
