Retail Trade Marketing Manager

About the role

The Retail Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing retail channel strategies to accelerate sustainable business growth, enhance customer partnerships, and improve execution excellence across retail accounts. Acting as a bridge between Marketing, Sales, Finance and Customer teams, the role translates business strategies into actionable plans, drives channel optimisation and ensures effective implementation of commercial initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously optimise customer‑centric trade marketing strategies, lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) execution and improve distribution, business performance and channel effectiveness.
• Support Route‑to‑Market (RTM) design and retail value‑chain optimisation aligned with business priorities and market dynamics.
• Facilitate customer negotiations to align on growth objectives, monitor JBP performance and drive corrective actions to meet targets.
• Design initiatives to increase outlet coverage, product penetration and distributor effectiveness; monitor coverage and off‑take performance to identify opportunities and risks.
• Partner with field sales teams to improve execution quality, customer engagement and overall trade program performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Trade Marketing, Channel Marketing, Sales Excellence or Commercial Operations, preferably in pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG or retail sectors.
• Proven track record in customer management, trade investment and cross‑functional project leadership; experience with JBP negotiations and retail account management is highly desirable.
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, combined with excellent cross‑functional communication and stakeholder influence.
