Quality Engineer – APQP & Customer Complaint Lead

About the role

The Quality Engineer will drive product quality throughout the APQP lifecycle and lead customer complaint investigations. You will act as the primary quality liaison between engineering, production, and the customer to ensure new products meet stringent quality and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage APQP activities for assigned programs, including PPAP, quality gates, MSA, production sign‑off and safe launch.
• Lead 8D investigations for customer complaints, preparing reports, implementing containment, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and track recurrence prevention.
• Coordinate with engineering, materials, purchasing, management, quality and production to meet quality and delivery goals.
• Serve as the primary quality contact for customers during APQP and product launch phases.
• Evaluate impact of raw material, process or equipment changes on product quality.
• Monitor customer quality performance and manage return material authorizations (RMA) to reduce quality costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of customer‑focused quality or manufacturing experience in automotive, cover glass or display module environments.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 quality management systems.
• Proven ability to make data‑driven decisions and think systematically.
• Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

• 8D report creation and management.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistics, DMAIC, Total Quality methods.
• IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 compliance.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
