Global Installation Engineer – Display CVD/PVD

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, is seeking a Global Installation Engineer for Display CVD/PVD technologies. The role supports customers across multiple locations in China, including Chengdu, Hefei, and Xiamen, and involves extensive travel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide training and support for quality tools and methods, working with field teams.
• Perform corrective‑action activities, document them, and facilitate local reviews.
• Gather solutions to quality issues and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
• Conduct ISO pre‑audits independently and participate in external audits.
• Support triage by delivering technical feedback on non‑conformance.

Required profile

• Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in the discipline and broadens capabilities.
• Understands key business drivers and uses this insight to accomplish work.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members without formal supervisory duties.
• Solves problems in straightforward situations using technical experience and judgment.
• Impacts the quality of own work and that of the team while adhering to guidelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with quality tools and methods.
• Experience conducting ISO audit processes.
• Knowledge of the 8D problem‑solving methodology.
