PTA Scientist

About the role

Axalta is recruiting a PTA Scientist in Shanghai. The role supports process technology work at the plant, driving improvements in cost, quality and productivity, and helping with new technology localization, equipment qualification and batch alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and lead parts of process technology projects and activities as needed
• Support plant goals related to process technology
• Drive process improvements that reduce variable costs, improve quality and increase productivity
• Support new technology product localization, new equipment qualification and new alignment batches
• Support root cause analysis of customer complaints and lingering operational issues
• Advance understanding of process variations and key parameters affecting performance
• Support process PSM activities such as PHA and PT documents as needed

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering
• At least 3 years of experience in paint manufacturing process, operations and/or process development, with scale-up experience
• Good spoken English
• Experience with APQP procedures (process design, PFMEA, control plan)

• Office Excel and Word
• Computer skills including databases and statistics
