Project Purchasing & Process Management Manager

About the role

The Project Purchasing & Process Management Manager will drive cost competitiveness, continuous improvement and digital transformation of procurement processes for KONE DM Purchasing in Kunshan, China. Reporting to the China DM Purchasing Director, the role ensures efficient, compliant and value‑focused purchasing across major and modernization projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all project‑related procurement activities, including major projects, modernization (MOD) and special projects.
• Partner with Frontline, Supply Chain, KTI and suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, quality and on‑time delivery.
• Own BoM cost, sourcing strategy, supplier selection and contract management for project procurement.
• Act as project manager within the purchasing organisation to identify and mitigate supply, quality, capacity and commercial risks.
• Govern data and performance, maintain KPI dashboards and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Analyse procurement workflows, drive process optimisation, automation and digitalisation initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of sourcing and procurement experience, preferably in the elevator/escalator industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven project‑management and change‑management skills.
• Analytical and strategic thinking with a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Willingness to travel and excellent command of English.
