Production Manager (Glass Packaging)

About the role

A world-leading manufacturer of glass packaging based in Zhanjiang (Guangdong Province) is looking for a Production Manager. Reporting directly to the Plant Director, the role covers batch and furnace, hot end, IS maintenance and cold end, aiming to meet quality, cost, delivery and safety requirements and satisfy customers.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the quality system, health, safety, environment and energy rules, and keep the workshop clean and compliant.
• Ensure smooth production to meet planning demands and manage the bare-glass production team, including job changes and on-line performance.
• Coordinate with other workshops, assess employees and their training needs, and validate job-change preparations.
• Lead production review meetings, propose action plans for customer complaints and drive continuous improvement with supervisors, technicians, shift leaders and workers.
• Study new bottle projects, define sampling parameters and dates, and monitor the work of Batch & Furnace, Hot End, IS maintenance and Cold End.
• Improve processes, contribute to redesigning the cold end and streamline the production organisation.
• Build a quality-oriented culture, manage and develop the team, support new hires and mitigate competency loss by managing the age pyramid.

Required profile

• Strong technical background and 10-15 years of industrial experience, preferably as a production manager or in a similar role, ideally in the glass industry.
• Good leader who drives people and makes change happen, customer-oriented and quality-minded.
