Visual Inspection (VI) Operator

About the role

Roche is hiring a Visual Inspection (VI) Operator in Shanghai. The role covers routine visual inspection of vials and handling of VI kits, while also supporting engineering project readiness and the lifecycle management of VI kits.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in new facility design and construction projects such as SAT and IOPQ, and support VI operation readiness.
• Support the initial development and optimisation of VI processes.
• Carry out routine operations in line with Roche's GMP/SHE and regulatory requirements, including vial visual inspection and VI kit handling.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment faults quickly with maintenance engineers to minimise downtime.
• Run regular manufacturing operations and GMP records, and carry out qualification activities such as APSE.
• Keep data accurate, complete and traceable, and implement cold chain management in the VI process.
• Operate related IT systems such as SAP and MES.

Required profile

• Senior high school or technical school education (pharmaceutical or biological field preferred).
• 3+ years of operation experience in the injection pharmaceutical industry; MNC biopharma experience preferred.
• Experience with strategic visual inspection projects, including design, commissioning and qualification, is preferred.
• Fluent English communication skills are preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical industry regulations, especially in the biological industry.
• Ability to work with GMP records and IT systems such as SAP and MES.
