Product Quality Engineer – Hardware

About the role

Meta is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to ensure hardware products meet cosmetic, functional and reliability requirements throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. You will own quality control from incoming material through to shipping, driving risk identification and mitigation during product development and production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the quality control system setup and qualification in CM factories, covering incoming material, in‑process (SMT, FATP), outgoing inspection, Out‑of‑Box audit and RCCA.
• Conduct risk assessments, closed‑loop follow‑up and corrective actions (DFMEA, FMEA) across cross‑functional teams.
• Define and monitor quality KPIs, apply statistical methods, hypothesis testing, normal distribution and process capability analysis.
• Develop product quality plans, inspection procedures and sampling plans using attribute, variable and sequential methods.
• Support NPI and launch stages by providing design, reliability and manufacturing input.
• Lead supplier qualification, audit activities and yield improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and at least 5 years of hands‑on experience in consumer electronics manufacturing.
• Proficiency with DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, PPAP, SPC and sampling plan definition; ability to interface at all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, normal distribution, process capability).
• Quality system auditing, CQE certification, Six Sigma Black Belt.
• Risk assessment tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, RCCA).
• Sampling plan design (attribute, variable, sequential).
