Product Design Engineer – Automotive

About the role

Forvia is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join its automotive division. You will be responsible for developing new and existing products, translating concepts into detailed CAD models and ensuring they meet planning, quality, cost and regulatory targets.

Key responsibilities

• Generate design concepts and produce conforming designs, parameters and calculations.
• Develop feasible designs based on available manufacturing processes.
• Perform engineering calculations for mass, strength and mechanical performance.
• Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documentation.
• Provide alternative design solutions with analysis and recommendations.
• Guide designers and detailers, verify their output and lead FMEA studies.
• Maintain CAD data integrity according to customer requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with government and customer specifications.
• Participate in product design reviews and manage CAD operators when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Experience in design and development within an industrial, preferably automotive, environment.
• Knowledge of project‑management processes and program standards, tools and methods.
• Training on the specific CAD software used by the program.
• Familiarity with primary manufacturing methods.
• Strong communication skills, international mindset and fluency in English.
