Industrial Designer – Audio Products (Shenzhen)

About the role

HARMAN Lifestyle is seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to create cutting‑edge audio products for its premium brands such as JBL, Harman Kardon and AKG. The role is based in Shenzhen and involves translating music‑driven inspiration and emerging design trends into iconic consumer and professional audio experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead hands‑on design projects from concept through detailed specifications, including 2D sketches and 3D models.
• Conduct brainstorming sessions, user research and trend analysis to inform product direction.
• Develop prototypes using in‑house and external resources and produce CMF (Color, Material, Finish) documentation.
• Present design solutions to cross‑functional teams and collaborate with global creative partners.

Required profile

• Passion for design and music with a strong portfolio showcasing consumer or professional product work.
• 5+ years of industrial design experience, preferably in audio or related consumer electronics.
• Solid understanding of the full design process, from trend research to manufacturing execution.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to work with leaders across functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Advanced 3D modeling using Rhinoceros and rendering with KeyShot.
• Experience creating photorealistic renderings and defining Materials, Colors, and Finishes (CMF).
• Knowledge of parametric design tools such as Grasshopper scripting.
