Power Semiconductor R&D Engineer (SiC) – Shanghai

About the role

As a Power Semiconductor R&D Engineer you will drive the development and optimisation of SiC chips, discretes and power modules for non‑automotive applications such as solid‑state transformers, AI data centres, energy storage systems and eVTOL. You will work closely with global R&D teams while leading local technical activities in China.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep technical understanding of Bosch SiC products for industrial applications and identify performance gaps.
• Interpret SST and AIDC specific requirements and define SiC design modifications.
• Lead local development and technical adaptation of existing SiC devices and modules for Chinese market needs.
• Collaborate with global teams to create new SiC products targeting industrial sectors.
• Analyse future industrial demand, propose design changes and plan a local technical roadmap.
• Conduct testing and benchmarking of industrial SiC devices and modules, summarising strengths and weaknesses.
• Support design‑in and design‑win activities with customers and partners.

Required profile

• University degree (MSc/PhD) in physics, semiconductor technology, microsystems or a related field.
• Strong communication skills, team orientation and proactive coordination abilities.
• Experience in power semiconductor chip, discrete and module design and testing.
• Knowledge of SST, AIDC, ESS and eVTOL application requirements.
• Business‑fluent Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
