Medical Science Liaison – Medical Affairs

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Medical Affairs is a credentialed therapeutic expert who engages in scientific exchange with key opinion leaders in the external medical community. Based in Beijing, the MSL provides balanced, factual information about the company’s therapeutic areas, supports clinical research, and gathers scientific insights to inform strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with national and regional scientific leaders to facilitate peer‑to‑peer scientific discussions.
• Provide scientific information on therapeutic areas and company products, and address scientific questions from stakeholders.
• Identify barriers to patient enrollment, recommend study sites, and support investigators in phase II‑IV clinical trials.
• Prepare for and staff scientific congresses, exchange data, and collect market insights.
• Gather feedback during routine activities to inform the company’s medical and scientific priorities.

Required profile

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, MD or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience.
• Proven ability to conduct doctoral‑level scientific discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and networking skills.
• Understanding of local regulatory and ethical guidelines for the pharmaceutical industry.
