Mechanical Design Engineer – ECU R&D (Suzhou)

About the role

Join Bosch's safety‑critical Electronic Control Unit (ECU) R&D team in Suzhou, where you will combine advanced mechanical design with rigorous cost optimisation. You will work on smart chassis and brake‑by‑wire technologies, ensuring precision engineering meets German manufacturing excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical cost optimisation for ECU mechanical components, conducting 360° feasibility studies and delivering bilingual engineering reports.
• Design high‑density structural packaging and mechanical integration using Creo, applying GD&T to create fully constrained 3D models and detailed 2D drawings.
• Perform statistical tolerance stack‑up analyses (Worst‑Case and Monte Carlo) to balance manufacturing cost and assembly yield.
• Bridge design and manufacturing through DFMA, collaborating with suppliers and Bosch production lines, and implement error‑proofing (Poka‑Yoke) strategies.
• Maintain engineering documentation, retrieve standard specifications, and support the team during product validation and testing phases.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical design of safety‑critical automotive components.
• Ability to produce professional bilingual (English/Chinese) engineering documentation.
• Strong focus on cost optimisation, precision, and reliability over a 15‑year automotive lifetime.
