Manufacturing Engineer – Metal Castings & Forgings

About the role

Your role as a Manufacturing Engineer will be to support and drive improvement to our critical manufacturing functions, working at the interface between builders who order parts and our manufacturing partners who produce them. You will review manufacturability, cost, and tooling requirements for metal casting and forging processes and help automate pricing and DFM workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Release Package Review – analyze models, drawings and parts lists to determine scope, feasibility, cost and lead time.
• Quoting – combine analysis with software recommendations and partner feedback to generate accurate quotes.
• DFM Feedback – provide design‑for‑manufacturing recommendations to builders.
• Platform development support – assist in building casting‑tooling calculators, material databases and DFM tools.
• Program support – lead transition from prototype/low‑volume production to high‑volume casting tooling, including redesign, material selection and tolerance optimization.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of casting manufacturing experience (must).
• At least 6 years of gravity and die‑casting experience (must).
• Proficient with NX/UG and Magma (or similar) for casting analysis (must).
• Associate degree or higher (should).
• Strong teamwork, integrity and honesty (must).

Required skills

• NX/UG CAD software.
• Magma or similar metal‑mold flow analysis tools.
• Casting analysis and tooling design.
• GD&T interpretation.
