Legal Counsel – Brand Marketing & Product (China Mainland)

About the role

Lululemon is seeking a Legal Counsel based in Shanghai to support its Brand Marketing, Product, PR, and related teams across China Mainland. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide legal guidance that enables fast‑paced marketing initiatives while safeguarding the brand against regulatory and reputational risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and review for brand and marketing campaigns, including online/offline advertising, CRM, mini‑programs, and consumer data initiatives.
• Ensure all marketing materials comply with Chinese advertising laws and regulations.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in claims, endorsements, and influencer partnerships.
• Advise on PR strategies, crisis management, and media communications to protect brand reputation.
• Monitor social‑media coverage for potential controversies and advise on corrective actions.
• Support product development, labeling, packaging, and compliance with local product safety and quality standards.
• Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with third‑party vendors to align with company policies and legal requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified legal professional with a law degree and the ability to practice law in China.
• Experience advising on brand, marketing, advertising, and PR matters.
• Familiarity with Chinese product safety, labeling, and packaging regulations.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with marketing, product, and strategy teams.
