Associate Director, Government Affairs & Policy

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Associate Director to support the head of China Government Affairs & Policy in shaping strategies that align with business objectives and navigating the regulatory landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Develop forward‑looking GA&P strategies aligned with J&J China’s business goals and policy priorities.
• Monitor political, economic and regulatory developments in China, providing insights on opportunities and risks.
• Collaborate with business leaders and government stakeholders at central and regional levels to address policy barriers.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Chinese universities, industry associations and think tanks.
• Coordinate participation in platforms such as CDF, CPAFFC, IBLAC and Tsinghua SEM Advisory Board.
• Facilitate high‑level engagement between J&J senior executives and Chinese state leaders and regulators.
• Monitor macro‑political and economic trends, identify risks and recommend scenario‑based crisis‑management strategies.
• Develop and execute advocacy plans to shape the business and policy environment.
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration to ensure strategic alignment across the company.
• Ensure compliance with ethical standards, laws, regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of China’s political, economic and regulatory environment.
• Experience working with senior government officials and industry stakeholders.
• Proven ability to develop and implement policy strategies.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Effective communication and partnership‑building capabilities.
