Legal Counsel

About the role

As a Legal Counsel you will become an important business partner, enabling sustainable and accelerated growth through innovative thinking, calculated risk‑taking and compliance enforcement. You will gain legal exposure to Philips’ extensive product portfolio, ranging from consumer products to medical devices, and support a complex B2B, B2C, B2G business model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal support for business challenges, including contract review & negotiation, business model formation, M&A projects, dispute resolution, investigations and crisis handling.
• Identify, prevent and respond to legal and compliance risks in anti‑trust, anti‑bribery, healthcare professional interactions, data security, privacy and export control.
• Drive projects independently through comprehensive planning, teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
• Continuously improve legal service efficiency and the quality of advice to meet practical business needs.
• Train, implement and enforce compliance across the organization and coach junior lawyers in Greater China.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (preferably Master’s) in Law with at least 10 years of legal practice experience and admission to the PRC Bar.
• Strong self‑motivation, eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English.
• Preferable mix of in‑house and private‑practice experience in a multinational company or international law firm; medical device industry experience is a plus.
