Legal Counsel – Automotive Business (China)

About the role

AUMOVIO is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Law Department in China. The role provides comprehensive legal support to the automotive business units, ensuring that commercial activities are conducted with minimal legal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall legal advice to designated business areas and enabling functions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements for automotive operations.
• Develop and maintain contract templates to streamline contract management.
• Collaborate with project teams on cross‑border transactions to maximise business opportunities.
• Manage disputes and legal proceedings, delivering practical solutions and protecting company interests.
• Support risk‑management initiatives and internal/external investigations.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and manage external counsel effectively.

Required profile

• Qualified to practice law in China with a bachelor’s degree in law or higher.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in a major law firm or multinational corporation within the automotive/manufacturing sector.
• Broad‑based generalist legal background with strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• High integrity, self‑motivation, and ability to work independently under pressure.
