JV Company Controller

About the role

This JV company controller position reports to the Finance Manager and contributes to the EL Smart Power business in Yangzhong, China. The main stakeholder is the joint venture (JV) board of directors. The role leads financial processes and transactions to optimise financial performance within the factory/site, supporting business decisions through monitoring, analysing and interpreting financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Help define the company strategy, turn it into business plans and set measurable targets, and drive business planning and forecasting.
• Monitor progress and provide analysis to support operational decisions, including pricing support, and advise management on action plans.
• Drive cost structure, productivity and capital efficiency, and improve collection of overdue receivables to strengthen net working capital.
• Prepare financial statements, tax returns and other public financial reports for local companies.
• Communicate with stakeholders on issues affecting operations, quality and efficiency.
• Assess business risk, define mitigation strategies and ensure risk management processes are applied consistently.
• Ensure transparent financial reporting and implement internal controls over financial and non-financial operations.
• Keep up to date with local laws and regulations, run compliance programmes, conduct audits, train staff, investigate violations and report compliance risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in business controlling, financial reporting and performance review and analysis, with at least 5 years in people management.
• Proven ability to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks and to control accounting and reporting processes.
• Experience in financial analysis, performance management, data analysis, risk management and internal control.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• SAP or ERP experience.
• Enhanced knowledge of SAP and reporting and controls platforms.
