Senior Accountant - AP Team, GBS

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is hiring a Senior Accountant for its AP team in the Global Business Services (GBS) unit, based in Kunshan City, China. The role covers month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, statutory reporting, audit support and coordination with Global Shared Services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing for assigned legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with IFF financial policies and US GAAP.
• Prepare, review and submit financial reports and reporting packages according to corporate reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Support statutory reporting, including local financial statements and reconciliation between US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Coordinate external audit engagements, provide supporting documentation and work with auditors to complete statutory and financial audits on time.
• Assist in internal audit activities and maintain SOX compliance controls across financial processes.
• Support tax audits, regulatory reviews and government inspections with financial analysis and documentation.
• Partner with Global Shared Services on Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes and resolve operational accounting issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, process standardization and finance transformation projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, controllership, financial reporting, audit or related finance functions.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Preferred: professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA or CIMA); previous Big Four or multinational finance experience; experience with Global Shared Services, controllership, finance transformation or cross-border statutory reporting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, local accounting standards, statutory reporting and tax principles.
• Hands-on experience with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing in a multinational setting.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance, risk management and SOX frameworks.
• Advanced analytical skills and hands-on use of ERP and financial reporting systems.
