Finance FP&A COE - Reporting and Costing Accountant

About the role

This Finance FP&A COE position in Xiamen reports to the Local Division Controller, ELSE China. It covers reporting units' monthly closing, reporting, business planning and analysis, and supports the business controller with financial commitments and internal control requirements. The main accountabilities are reporting unit reporting and costing.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the FAO and business teams so that monthly closings are timely and accurate, and support the preparation of the monthly financial report package during the closing period.
• Analyse financial data to track performance against targets and benchmarks, communicate results to the business and follow up on project control, margin slippage and financial result checks.
• Update full cost model ratios and support the quotation team's implementation.
• Prepare financial analysis reports, including business review material and management Power BI reports, and review the balance sheet and cost centre expenses.
• Support business controllers with the reporting unit's annual planning and rolling forecast.
• Familiarise yourself with ABB AR&P rules and policies, and support compliance with internal control requirements.
• Provide financial support to other functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
• Good understanding of financial and business processes.
• Demonstrated experience in costing and financial analysis; over 3 years of finance or accounting experience preferred.
• Comfortable communicating in English.

• Excellent MS Excel skills.
• PowerPoint.
• Data analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI are prioritised.
