Junior Operator

About the role

The Junior Operator position at Dow is an entry‑level role focused on operating assigned plant equipment and areas under close supervision. You will support safe, reliable and efficient production while developing technical skills on the job.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and field‑check process equipment following Operating Discipline policies and procedures.
• Monitor process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment and control systems, making decisions to maintain desired rates.
• Perform scheduled operational tasks and respond to unplanned events, including Immediate Response activities.
• Collaborate with shift team members to balance workload and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Conduct effective shift relief and hand‑over communication.
• Maintain qualifications, complete training goals, and address skill gaps during discretionary time.
• Participate in preliminary investigations and root‑cause analyses for incidents.
• Track plant performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities and execute autonomous maintenance, minor repairs and preventative maintenance.

• Ability to work in a shift environment and cooperate with multiple teams.
• Willingness to learn technical skills on the job and complete required training.
• Basic problem‑solving attitude and capacity to document investigations.
