IT Field Support Specialist

About the role

Join SBM Offshore as an IT Field Support Specialist and provide on‑site technical assistance to ensure uninterrupted IT operations across diverse environments. You will be the first line of support for end‑users, helping them stay productive while maintaining system reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site support for hardware, software, and network issues, minimizing business disruption.
• Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and performance optimisations on end‑user devices.
• Install, upgrade, and configure operating systems, applications, and utilities in line with company standards.
• Ensure connectivity to LAN, wireless networks, and internet services; troubleshoot network connectivity problems.
• Provide guidance on IT systems, applications, and security best practices, and educate users on self‑service tools.
• Maintain accurate support records, ticket logs, and hardware/software inventory.
• Deliver prompt, empathetic customer service and ensure user satisfaction with resolutions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Additional technical education or certifications (e.g., associate degree in IT) preferred.
• CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in English for effective communication.
