About the role
We are looking for an HR Specialist in Shanghai to manage day‑to‑day HR operations. The role serves as the local HR representative, ensuring smooth employee support, compliance and benefits administration while partnering with the APAC/International HR team and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and execute daily administrative and operational HR tasks.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date employee records and personnel files in line with company policies and data‑privacy requirements.
- Ensure HR practices comply with China employment laws and internal policies.
- Oversee local onboarding processes in partnership with International/US HR managers, HRBPs and other stakeholders.
- Support implementation and communication of global and local HR policies and maintain the China Employee Handbook.
- Collaborate with HRBP and HQ to communicate policies clearly and ensure effective implementation.
- Assist payroll, benefits, HR reporting, audits and HR projects.
- Coordinate site events and wellbeing initiatives to promote an inclusive workplace culture.
- Process transactional activities according to defined HR processes.
- Prepare employee certificates and required documentation in Chinese.
- Administer the DingTalk leave system, including account management, entitlement calculations and reminders.
- Support local HR operation projects as defined by the global company.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in HR operations or administration.
- Experience working with a US‑based company is preferred.
- Strong understanding of China employment practices, HR operations and local labor regulations.
- Proven experience managing employee records, onboarding, leave administration, payroll inputs and the employee lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and employee data management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, customer‑oriented mindset.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
