Global Software Support Engineer – Semi (Xi'an)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Software Support Engineer to join its Xi'an team. You will work on moderate‑complexity software application and system issues for semiconductor equipment, collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve high‑value problems and software failures.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve equipment software application and system issues of moderate complexity, including high‑value problems and systemic bugs.
• Provide customer software support through the Software Ticketing system and keep stakeholders updated on issue status.
• Create, test, and verify Software Change Notifications and Key Feature Procedures for product software.
• Develop customer‑focused documentation for external software features.
• Participate in equipment software specification, design, testing, and documentation reviews as needed for customer requests.
• Assist in training junior engineers and detailed product operation.
• Deliver timely reports and align work with group objectives.
