Design Engineer – Pump and Skid Systems

About the role
LEWA is seeking a Design Engineer to support the development of pump and pump‑skid products. You will be responsible for translating contract requirements into detailed mechanical designs, managing documentation, and ensuring smooth project execution.
Key responsibilities
- Clarify technical requirements from contracts and implement appropriate solutions.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documents such as pump datasheets, general arrangement drawings, P&ID, instrument and utility lists, and project procedures.
- Perform mechanical design of pump components, baseplates, piping, and select/configure auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain material master data in SAP, create BOMs, issue factory execution documents, and prepare hand‑over documentation.
- Identify risks and drive technical optimisation throughout contract execution.
- Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Production, Quality and Project Management to keep projects on schedule.
- Participate in project reviews, capture lessons learned and contribute to standardisation efforts.
- Assist in defining and improving technical specifications and design standards.
Required profile
- At least 2 years of experience as an engineer in mechanical or packaged equipment design.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Process Equipment, Control Engineering or a related field.
- Basic English proficiency (CET‑4 or equivalent) sufficient to read technical specifications.
- Experience with pumps, skid‑mounted equipment, pressure vessels or offshore projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with ASME and GB standards, P&ID creation and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools and common office software.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
