Customer Engineer – Field Service (DFT‑C1)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer (Field Service Engineer) you will be the primary liaison with Applied Materials customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostics to troubleshoot and ensure reliable operation of complex systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics tools for equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic diagnostic techniques for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of hand tools, digital multimeters, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum and thermodynamics.
