Customer Engineer (C1) – Field Service Role

About the role

As a Customer Engineer (C1) at Applied Materials you will act as the primary liaison with customers in Wuxi, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostics to troubleshoot issues while ensuring high‑quality service and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
