Associate Manager - Warehouse (Shanghai Greenfield Facility)

About the role

Roche is hiring an Associate Manager for its greenfield warehouse facility in Shanghai. The role supports the warehouse manager in establishing operations, working closely with the project team on facility design, qualifications, manufacturing readiness and start-up, and overseeing daily operations so they run safely, on time and in line with GMP and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in new facility design and construction (URS review, FAT, SAT, IOPQ) and help set up the warehouse management system, training and qualification system, and the warehouse SOPs
• Support the Head of Warehouse with daily activities such as receiving, picking, packing, staging and dispatching, including dangerous and chemical goods
• Lead and supervise the warehouse team, hold daily briefings, assign tasks, monitor performance and coach staff
• Act as backup to the warehouse manager, manage warehouse capacity and resources, and track construction and readiness milestones
• Update and revise SOPs, handle deviations, OOS investigations and CAPA, and take part in new product technology transfer
• Manage cycle stocktakes, reconcile inventory and optimise layout, storage and material flow
• Ensure GMP and regulatory compliance (FDA, EMA), document integrity and traceability, and work with QA on audits and inspections
• Enforce safety protocols, oversee forklift and pallet jack maintenance, and drive continuous improvement such as 5S
• Liaise with manufacturing, procurement, quality and engineering, and represent the department in cross-functional meetings
• Lead the Aspire and EWM system projects: gather requirements, test, train users and act as Master User

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or a related field (pharmaceutical/biological preferred)
• 10+ years in a warehouse or logistics role in the pharmaceutical or a similarly regulated industry (MNC biopharma preferred), with at least 5 years as a warehouse manager
• Fork-lift certificate and hazardous chemicals safety management certificate are mandatory
• Fluent English

• Strong knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical regulations
• Proficiency in ERP and EWM systems
• Strategic thinking and ability to turn strategy into actionable plans
