Sourcing Director - APAC

About the role

The Sourcing Director – APAC will lead a procurement organization of more than 20 professionals across the region. This senior position is responsible for shaping and executing APAC‑wide sourcing strategies, managing a budget exceeding USD 500 million, and ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality supply for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement localized APAC procurement strategies aligned with global guidelines.
• Own and manage an annual procurement budget of over USD 500 million, delivering cost‑saving and efficiency targets.
• Lead three core functions: strategic category procurement, on‑site plant procurement, and indirect procurement (equipment, MRO, services, corporate supplies).
• Standardize procurement workflows and SOPs across all APAC sites.
• Build and maintain a regional supplier management system covering sourcing, qualification, evaluation, performance review and risk mitigation.
• Establish a strong local supplier base in key markets such as China, Malaysia and India.
• Serve as the primary APAC procurement liaison for global headquarters and cross‑functional teams.
• Drive talent development, performance management and capability building within the procurement team.
• Implement risk control mechanisms to address material shortages, price volatility and compliance requirements.
• Provide regular APAC procurement performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large procurement or sourcing teams (20+ members) in the APAC region.
• Demonstrated responsibility for multi‑million‑dollar procurement budgets.
• Strong analytical, risk‑management and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Ability to standardize processes and drive operational excellence across multiple sites.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
