About the role

The China‑Britain Business Council (CBBC) is seeking a motivated intern to support its events team in Shanghai for a three‑month period. The role focuses on the logistical and administrative execution of events that promote UK‑China trade and enhance member services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with venue selection, setup, and teardown, coordinating with external suppliers for catering, AV, transportation and other onsite services.
• Prepare and distribute event materials such as name badges, sign‑in sheets, brochures and seating plans.
• Manage hard‑cost quotations, process supplier payments and maintain expenditure records.
• Handle attendee registration, check‑in, badge distribution and provide ushering and directional guidance during sessions, roundtables and receptions.
• Support breakout sessions with time‑keeping, material placement and speaker assistance.
• Assist with post‑event cleanup, equipment return and stakeholder communication with participating companies, universities and venue staff.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented, energetic team player with a strong motivation to support event delivery.
• Ability to work under supervision of the Shanghai event team and report to the Director of Membership and Events.
• Flexibility to start between August and September 2026 and commit to a three‑month internship.
