Associate Publisher – Discover Journals (Environmental Science)

About the role

Springer Nature is seeking an Associate Publisher for its Discover Journals series focused on Environmental Science. Reporting to an Executive Publisher, you will manage a portfolio of inclusive journals, ensuring fast, transparent review processes and high‑quality author service. The role combines strategic development, content acquisition, and editorial oversight across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Project‑manage the launch of new journals, meeting board and content thresholds.
• Develop and execute journal development strategies aligned with the Discover Series objectives.
• Oversee editorial handling of articles at various review stages.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external editors, and the scientific community to drive journal success.
• Support content acquisition teams with ideas and collection efforts.

Required profile

• Experience managing a portfolio of academic journals or similar publishing products.
• Strong strategic mindset and ability to assess market opportunities.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills with editors and scientific partners.
• Project‑management capability in a fast‑paced environment.
• Solid understanding of the research publishing landscape.
