Mechanical Project Engineer – ADAS/ISS Sensors & ECUs

About the role

As a Mechanical Project Engineer at Bosch Group in Suzhou, you will lead the development of ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistant System) and ISS (Interior Sensing System) sensors and ECUs. You will drive cross‑functional collaboration to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multi‑disciplinary mechanical Simultaneous Engineering (SE) teams across variant and platform projects.
• Analyze customer specifications and translate them into detailed internal mechanical requirements.
• Develop mechanical concepts using FAM, DFMEA, and DFMA to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Optimize designs to close technical gaps and meet target cost, material, and manufacturing objectives.
• Partner with purchasing and suppliers to negotiate lead times, manage prototype builds, and conduct PPAP reviews.
• Create and release Bills of Materials (BoM) to a manufacturable status.
• Oversee mechanical verification plans, including DV and PV, and coordinate testing, issue resolution, and design release.
• Follow APQP processes, manage project milestones, risks, and dependencies, and report QCD metrics.
• Support production launch by resolving manufacturing issues and ensuring smooth transition to mass production.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional mechanical engineering teams.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in mechanical concept development and design optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with supplier coordination, prototype management, and PPAP.
• Familiarity with APQP, DV/PV testing, and risk management processes.
